Re: Merge

I was sorry to see this article merged to a list of Occupy protests. Had I seen the merge tag before I would have argued against the proposal. I won't contest the merge now, but I do plan on expanding an article for Occupy Salem in the near future. --Another Believer _(Talk) 19:51, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment - How is the topic non-notable, or more specifically, how in your opinion does the topic fail Wikipedia's General notability guideline? You can't cite NOTNEWS for everything. The coverage for Occupy Salem came from several different news outlets, like the Boston Globe, and was spread out over a period of months. Silver seren^C 05:39, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Um, the Boston Globe reference a) isn't in the article, and b) is probably to Salem, Massachusetts and not Salem, Oregon. And, yes, I can cite NOTNEWS, ONEEVENT, or any other numbers of policies. Purpleback pack 89≈≈≈≈ 05:45, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment – Note that at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2012 February 24 – Occupy article redirects, three users opposed the redirection of this article to the List of Occupy movement protest locations in the United States article, and one user (the proposer for merging, User:Purplebackpack89) supported it.
