[edit]I really feel the need to say that this page needs some revision. I have been seeing all these MMD videos on YT lately, and I was trying to figure out what I was looking at. But this article is REALLY poorly written.

MikuMikuDance issues
[edit]Lately I've seen more than one page and video from many different people, about certain model makers harassing and threatening MMD users online for editing models they themselves give away for free. some have even stopped buying Windows 100% Magazine, which features some of the accused model makers, monthly.
It seems like all of the people crying copyright fowl neither work for Yamaha/Crypton/AHS nor do they understand that MMD is freeware. Yet these are college educated adults.
Should there be a section that addresses this problem?
Also, I think it should be noted that some users claim that MMD does not work with Vocaloid 3's VSQX files or VSQ data made by the Append Voices in Pocaloid. (For the record, I only use the files that came with 7.39.) FF3TerraAndLocke (talk) 12:19, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, newer releases of MMD have the ability to use .vsq files from V2 and V3. Although, I've never tried this out because I don't have the V2 or V3 software.
(Shame on me!)I really should get around to downloading some of those kinds of files and trying it out. - N Studios 2 17:35, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
- This really should be addressed. I feel as if the current page not only glosses over it by stating "all users must obey the rules of the model maker" it completely throws away the very large problem of suicide bating, hacking and harassment that has been an off and on plague within the MikuMikuDance fan base. Considering that there are adults harassing teenagers over CGI models from Japan and America, we are doing a poor job as Wikipedia editors of at least acknowledging the problem. Suggestion: Add Article to a New Project
[edit]Okay, so earlier, I had an idea of making a new WikiProject: Project Vocaloid. Now, originally, I thought of removing this from Project Animation and adding this article to Project Vocaloid, mainly because this is more related to Vocaloid than Animation, but I saw other articles that were part of more than one project. My new idea is to simply add the article to Project Vocaloid and keep it in Project Animation. Although, I haven't submitted the Project Proposal for Project Vocaloid yet because I wanted the public's feedback about my idea, but if the project went up, these would most likely be its goals:
- Add more information to all known Vocaloids that already have articles (ex. Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin & Len, Megurine Luka, Kasane Teto, Akita Neru, Yowane Haku, etc.)
- Create in-depth and up-to-date articles for all known pieces of Vocaloid software and Vocaloid animation software (Only MMD has an article, but there's also MikuMikuMoving, MikuMikuCapture, etc. None of which have articles).
- Provide up-to-date and relevant information on Vocaloid software and Vocaloid animation software.
- Create comprehensive and up-to-date lists of MMD Models, Accessories, MME effects, Stages, Motion Data, etc, and articles for everything listed.
- Create lists of MMD model makers and editors, as well as in-depth articles for each person.
- Create Vocaloid-related templates and Usertags and lists of those created by members of Project Vocaloid.
- Create a list of songs made by Vocaloids.
- Create a list of file types that can be used with Vocaloid-related software.
- Promote Vocaloid as a whole through complete information on all things Vocaloid.
I'm obviously a massive fan of Vocaloid (especially Hatsune Miku), so such a group would be perfect for me, as well as all other Vocaloid fans, and even those who have no idea what Vocaloid even is, because the content covered by the group would be so complete that anyone would be able to learn all about Vocaloid, even if they had no prior knowledge or opinion of the subject.
So now, I'm asking you for your opinion. What do you think of my idea? Do you have any suggestions to improve it in any way? If so, what are they? What do you like or dislike about it? Though I may not be able to respond to everyone personally, please keep in mind that your suggestions are taken into consideration and may or may not be implemented if/when the project is launched. If you would like to recruit in advance, you can do that here as well. If you choose to do so, I will notify you personally if/when the project goes up. Thanks everyone!

- Personally, I think these ideas are exactly what we need. Why hasn't this been addressed? I think you should try it. BigAlLovesMiku (talk) 00:57, 18 May 2017 (UTC)
Advertisement box?
[edit]Since 2013 is there a box on top of this page saying this article has some "advertising" material, but I have read the article and in my point of view there is no big advertisement issues. So should we remove it?
If you want my argument: if this article is advertisement, then are all Vocaloid pages (or movie/game/music related pages in general) advertisement. It's possible that this page is treated more strictly, because it's freeware, but here you have my point. Wariostarx (talk) 17:24, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
Image deletion
[edit]Hello.
Recently, I've encountered two attempts to delete the image in the article: Revision 697187099 and revision 695526587. The first was content deletion without explanation. The second claims "The original artist does not want the image/render at display in this page".
I have no way of knowing of this claim is true. (And it is unsafe to take one person's word for granted. I have seen smart vandals before.) Even if it is, the solution is filing a deletion request on Wikimedia Commons for commons:File:No shader.png.
Best regards,
