Maryam Nawaz Sharif was nominated for deletion. The discussion was closed on 09 September 2012 with a consensus to merge. Its contents were merged into Maryam Nawaz. The original page is now a redirect to this page. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected article, please see its history; for its talk page, see here.
Dawn editorial (7 July 2018). "Wikipedia 'protects' Maryam Nawaz's page after vandalism attempts". Dawn. Wikipedia then moved to change the status of her page to semi-protected because of violations of its 'biographies of living persons policy'. It will now become difficult for bots and new users to edit the page.
Unfortunately, this article does not appear to me ready to be listed as Good Article. The biggest problem is that the article is tremendously short, and doesn't appear to make full use of its linked sources. The reader does not get a full overview of Nawaz's life, even such major events as being put under house arrest[1], or her political views. On the other hand, the article dwells on her charity work without providing a reliable source for her involvement in these projects.
Another problem is that the article has a clearly non-neutral tone. The family's charity work is promoted in detail without a reliable source for Nawaz's direct involvement, and Nawaz's "vital role in the establishment of higher education in Punjab" both seems unlikely and is unsourced. "respectable and renowned" is direct editorializing.
I'd suggest that to become a Good Article, this should be dramatically expanded from reliable sources like the ones currently cited in the article to give a fuller picture of Nawaz's life. As a politician, it's particularly important that all claims related to her come from reliable secondary sources, not from charities run by her family. Thanks for your work on this, and good luck on expanding this! -- Khazar2 (talk) 02:54, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Who invented this new term Punjabi Kashmiri? There is nothing common between the Valley of Kashmir and Punjab! If a person speaks Kashmiri the Punjabi can probably not even understand a word!
In education of maryam nawaz Wikipedia write that she left medical college in 1980 and date of birth mentioned 1973. A 7years old child can't get admission in medical school.
In Pakistan you need to complete 12 years of education and a child get admission in early school at age of 5.

Please change the following : under the heading of early life and education > 4th paragraph > it’s says she “eloped “ which is culturally very sensitive and derogatory, the reference provided does not make any such comments , hence this is factually incorrect. Please change it to “married”. Thank you 39.62.8.98 (talk) 18:40, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The complete article is not objective and seems to be written to malign Maryam Nawaz Sharif who is a popular public figure and about to take charge as Chief Minister of the biggest province of Pakistan. Please have the complete article revised by an authentic contributor. Thanks Icetlives (talk) 18:08, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Currently, the BLP has two sections: one dedicated to her political career and another focusing on the Panama Papers case. However, there is overlapping information between these sections. For example: information about her corruption cases is also present within the political career section and some bits about her political career is also present within the Panama Papers case section. This duplication of information can make the page less concise and may confuse readers, IMO. I suggest we move/merge the text of Panama Papers case section into the political career section. I believe this consolidation will prevent duplication of information and streamline the presentation of BLP. Share your thoughts please! Saqib (talk) 18:55, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I am not in favor of merging the sections as it would just muddy the political career section. In reality, her political career is starting just now, before that she held some minor positions. The cases against her were influenced by the establishment while judiciary was part and parcel in their plan. The real target was Nawaz Sharif but to inflict maximum pain they punished his daughter. In a society like Pakistan if you want to really give a painful punishment, punish the person’s daughter. This aspect of those cases need to be covered sometimes in the future, there is plenty of material out there. I just don’t have too much interest working on Maryam’s article at this point, I was only trying to polish it for ITN which has already gone down the drain. @SheriffIsInTown: I agree with you. BTW, I've expanded the political career section. However, I believe the section should be renamed (although I'm unsure of the most appropriate title) because much of the information is unrelated to her political career. Similarly, the Panama Papers case section could be merged into it. The last few paragraphs could be placed under the political career section. What's your opinion on this? --Saqib (talk) 18:06, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The section is extensive, and I currently lack the time to read it thoroughly. However, I did skim through it. My initial impression is that it could be condensed; there appears to be some content that seems undue. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 20:04, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Acquittal from Corruption case
it says his father never came back from London, which is wrong.
Also paragraph should clearly say that court acquitted Maryam on basis of no evidence presented by NAB. It was on merit. Ranjha876 (talk) 00:29, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The information which you have added in political career >Parliamentary debut ,last paragraph that the opposition has announced to hold parallel parliament session and accused maryam of being a fake chief minister is not evident. Moreover, there is NO constitutional permission to hold parallel session and it never happened in the history of Pakistan.Stop misguiding people and please show some request for the Chief Minister of the biggest province of Pakistan. Ali28349 (talk) 10:42, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ali28349: it's important to include PTI's perspective for the sake of maintaining neutrality. We're simply reflecting what reliable sources have reported, and our intention is not to mislead. Our goal is to provide a balanced representation of the information, irrespective of any anyone's preferences. And sorry we're not here to appease respected Chief Minister. --Saqib (talk) 11:08, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
An editor on wikipedia should be unbiased, but unfortunately you are.Did I compel you to appease the CM?According to Pakistan’s Constitution, there is no grant to hold parallel parliamentary sessions. If so ,prove it please. 39.45.96.251 (talk) 11:11, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Moreover,It is a biography, not an analytical debate that you will have to represent all political parties to prove your balanced nature. Ali28349 (talk) 11:15, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not displaying bias. I've included numerous positive aspects about Maryam on this page. When you said, "please show some respect for the Chief Minister," what exactly did you mean? Well we merely mentioned what PTI stated and what sources reported. You can always provide a rebuttal to this information, but deleting it outright isn't justified. --Saqib (talk) 11:17, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
