[edit]Was New Orleans lawyer, Pereguine 'Perry' Snowden Warfield of Georgetown, D.C., an 1830's Georgetown College graduate, and of it's law school? His father was a Georgetown, D.C., physician. James A. Miller, Jr., 4978 N. Hampton Dr., Southport, N.C. 28461. I'm attempting the learn the name of his daughter, Mrs. Lee, of 1904 Summit, Miss.; and daughter Mrs. Hosmer, of 1904 St. Joseph, La. Where was Perry buried? Supposedly he died middle aged; his wife Mrs. Martha Bell Nixon Warfield, died Biloxi, Miss., 1904. My aunt has Perry's 1830's Georgetown College poetry practice book, and flute.
wasn't Mutombo also a diplomatic???

Update Article Format
[edit]It might be advantageous to modify the format of the article from its current text form into a table form. This would allow for greater ease of navigating the article and would also make it consistent with other similar articles of university alumni that have attained featured list status. Examples of featured alumni articles include: Dartmouth College, Washington & Jefferson College, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Central Florida, and Brigham Young University. Considering all other factors, this article could then be nominated for featured article status, assuming the list of alumni is comprehensive and thoroughly cited; perhaps some expansion of the lead would be necessary. Ergo Sum 14:22, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- Excellent idea, the list format is definitely unwieldy. It would also help identify those without proper sourcing here.-- Patrick, oѺ∞ 19:02, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- I'm going to work on putting this text into a sortable table in a sandbox, then transfer it over to this article. Ergo Sum 04:04, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
Article Format Conversion
[edit]I converted the Heads of state or government, United States Governors, and U.S. Presidential appointees and White House staff sections to the sortable table format (mentioned in the talk page section above). As this will be a large and long process to convert the entire article, I will undertake it incrementally. I added images accordingly. N.B. that the images I removed were to allow for proper formatting. They should be added back to their appropriate sections, rather than listed randomly as they previously were. I added citations as well. All persons listed should have at least one corresponding citation. Most entries are lacking a citation. I added numerous internal links. I also standardized the convention for school attended/degree received. Lastly, I updated many of the notability descriptions, as many individuals have newer accomplishments that were not listed. This entailed re-categorizing some individuals. I will continue to work on conversion, though since the sections are longer, it may take more time. Ergo Sum 02:12, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thus far, I've converted all sections up through U.S. Senators (excluding the Legend section). I will continue working my way through the remaining sections. In case anyone was wondering, I've been using this rule to standardize the schools and earned degrees listed by each individual's name and class year. Once all the sections have been updated, I will replace the existing Legend section with the aforementioned one. Ergo Sum 21:40, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
Comment: This citation (added to replace prior for Talal bin Muhammad which had instead referenced incorrectly Al-Waleed bin Talal) may be of use for other prominent alumni of the School of Foreign Service – note: where I included "Foreign Leaders and Diplomats" as secondary part of the title is obtained from the pertinent subsection of the website page, i.e. substitute secondary detail on title with appropriate subsection where needed if using for other alumni:
<ref>{{cite web|url = https://sfs.georgetown.edu/careers/prominent|title = Prominent SFS Alumni {{!}} Foreign Leaders and Diplomats|department= School of Foreign Service|website = Georgetown University (sfs.georgetown.edu)|accessdate = 2015-10-26}}</ref>

Getting this article to GA then FA
[edit]@Ergo Sum: Agreed! Never worked on a list before this. But I was impressed by the meticulous citations. I hope you don't mind me jumping-in to improve it. —አቤል ዳዊት?(Janweh64) (talk) 03:49, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Janweh64: Not at all. I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the list cleaned up and promoted to FL some time back but no one responded. I'd be glad to help you promote it to GA and eventually FL. Ergo Sum 04:00, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
- Awesome! Now for my first complaint. This article relies too much on primary sources like the website of the person's place of work. See for example this edit —አቤል ዳዊት?(Janweh64) (talk) 04:20, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
