Carlos Slim

[edit]

Why is Carlos Slim in a list of American billionaires? As far as I know, he is Mexican citizen who lives in Mexico. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.161.67.209 (talk) 19:01, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Slim is still Mexican. I updated the list, a new list came out a few weeks ago. --Frmorrison (talk) 21:23, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2257 Billionaires

[edit]

According to this real-time forbs list there are 2257 billionaires in USA https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billionaires/#543d31a33d78

So why does it say there are only 614 on this article, is it a cover up? Australianblackbelt (talk) 10:12, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2257 is a global figire, not just the US. Edwardx (talk) 23:14, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Dorsey

[edit]

I was expecting to see Jack in this list. AJRG (talk) 07:31, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need for this page.

[edit]

Unless it's updated on a regular basis. As of April 2001 Forbes published their list of Billionaires and Elon Musk is behind Jeff Bezos.

List of Americans by net worthList of wealthiest Americans by net worth – This page's current name implies a list of every single American by net worth. However, this list is only about the wealthiest Americans, so the new title will specify that. Blubabluba9990 (talk) (contribs) 18:29, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose We should credit our readers with some common sense. Edwardx (talk) 18:34, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support While we can trust our readers to assume an implied "notable" in any list, that is about all we generally assume. Just as we would say "list of tallest people" or "list of oldest people," and not just "list of people by height" or "list of people by age," we need a more descriptive title here.--Yaksar (let's chat) 06:13, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Any reader expecting to see a comprehensive list of all Americans can have their misconception cleared up in the lede. The article title isn't for explaining every detail. SnowFire (talk) 15:34, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Certainly not every detail, but this is the key detail! It's not like the intro has to take time to explain this in significant detail -- we literally use the suggested title as the first sentence, instead of the current title, because the current title is meaningless. It's the same as "list of people by height" rather than tallest people -- could the reader likely assume the actual meaning? Sure, but why not make it better and more accurate.--Yaksar (let's chat) 16:48, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Antonio Smith

[edit]

Are we sure that his listing as the 3rd richest American is accurate? There’s no information about him online except for this one article. 2600:1000:B11C:C9D6:BCD6:5665:9E92:7778 (talk) 12:55, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

this article is pointless, its sloppy, and it should be deleted.

[edit]

if you start counting at two and stop at 25, you have a total of 24, not 25.

i edited the article to reflect the actual number of people in the table..

this article is pointless, it doesnt update itself.

who makes a “top 24” list anyway?

its always 25.

where was jeff bezos in january?

because now he is number three overall on the same forbes list that our article claims he wasnt on in january, making him the second richest american with $114 billion..

its awfully hard to believe bezos fell off that list in january with less than $26.6 billion, and was somehow able to make a miraculous recovery in just three short months to secure himself third place overall and second richest american with $114 billion..

its so hard to believe in fact, i dont believe it.

once again, this article is sloppy and pointless, not to mention incorrect, because bezos was 100% on that list in january.

does wikipedia no longer consider him an american or something?

elon has $180 billion now, which would rank him #1 richest american, IF we knew how to count, but we dont seem to in this article, at all, so hes #2.

once again, this entire article is pointless, its sloppy, and it should be deleted.

im not mad at anyone in particular, im just a bit shocked to come across an article of such low quality.

thats all i have for now. Snarevox (talk) 22:52, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bernard Arnault

[edit]

Bernard Arnault is not on this list and he has been in the top five for a while and is currently number 2. Please fix this mistake. Also add their heights! 2601:3C8:201:D420:F25:B1C0:ECD4:173 (talk) 00:00, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bernard Arnault isnt American. Nswix (talk) 01:00, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
