[edit]I thought the monetary bonuses weren’t awarded if the rikishi doesn’t get kachi-koshi? Is that wrong?ALAKTORN (talk) 11:36, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
If that's the case it's the first I've heard of it. FourTildes (talk) 12:13, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Japanese wikipedia says a kinboshi monetary bonus is added to a wrestler's monthly salary even if he gets make-koshi. It also says a kinboshi is equivalent to 20 kachi-koshi's. Whoa. Did not know this. FourTildes (talk) 12:24, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, the bonuses are awarded for every tournament the rikishi competes in for the rest of his career, regardless of performance.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 00:04, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
column change
[edit]I had an idea and then went ahead and changed the current kinboshi winners' list 3rd column to show the last time the rikishi had a kinboshi. This seems more interesting than what their highest rank achieved is (which is a staple on a lot of sumo lists on wiki, and a bit run of the mill). It is also much easier to remember to update, because it can be done when a new kinboshi is added for a rikishi, as opposed to being updated as it is noticed when a rikishi is promoted to a higher rank. I didn't think it was a controversial change so I have already implemented it. I did try to make the last column (last achieved) sort, but I think the grouping of rikishi with the same number of kinboshi makes this difficult - though I don't think being sortable is that useful, as there are a few reasons why rikishi haven't had a kinboshi for a long time (one of course being more or less permanently in sanyaku). FourTildes (talk) 14:58, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
- Definitely an improvement.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 14:54, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

Active yokozuna kinboshi ratio
[edit]I notice there's a "needs update" tag on this. Is it done after each tournament? If so, perhaps a note saying "as of March 2017" or whenever it was could be added. Obviously Kisenosato will make his first appearance in this table having lost to Endo and Tochiozan.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 14:15, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
