Date of marriage

[edit]

In the article the date of marriage was 30 January 1920, however according to Burke's Peerage, the marriage was registered on 28 January 1920. Burke's Peerage is known for its mistakes, so I do not know which source to trust. JHvW 08:11, 28 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The succession box had him as MP for Liverpool East Toxteth 1929 - 1931 with the years being linked to 1929 United Kingdom general election and 1931 United Kingdom general election. This was not accurate so I have amended. First he was elected in 1929, but at 1929 Liverpool East Toxteth by-election, which took place a couple of months prior to the 1929 general election. Second he ceased to be an MP on becoming Baron Melchett, which he did on his father's death at the end of December 1930. The by-election to fill the vacancy created by his becoming a peer - 1931 Liverpool East Toxteth by-election- took place in February, several months before the 1931 election. I have therefore changed the 1929 link to the by election and changed 1931 to 1930 and linked it to the 1931 by-election. Dunarc (talk) 23:49, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
