"Great Illyrian Revolt" is only found in a handful of sources and is inappropriate for use as the article name per conventions. Rather, "Bellum Batonianum" (war/uprising of the Batons), the original name used in historiography, is to be used.--Zoupan00:21, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Batons or Batos (i.e. Batones)? Would there be any precedent for just calling it the Batonian War, in compliance with WP:UE? If not (and I'm quite happy to disregard WP:UE), we should put an {{italic title}} template somewhere. Q·L·1968☿19:25, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
However, we don't usually refer to wars by their Latin names; article titles with Bellum generally refer to titles of Latin or Greek histories of these wars, not the wars themselves. Cynwolfe (talk) 17:26, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
