Ranks

[edit]

The ranks and insignia are way off. Rimush 15:44, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article name

[edit]

Shouldn't the article name be in English? As for Spanish Civil Guard, French National Gendarmerie, Royal Dutch Gendarmerie, and all others?

--ES Vic (talk) 16:05, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed (as per WP:EN), should we name it "Romanian Gendarmerie" (similar to the Romanian Police article) or "Gendarmerie (Romania)" (similar to Gendarmerie (Turkey))? Mentatus (talk) 13:20, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

August 2018 protests and repeated vandalism.

[edit]

Given that most of the information regarding the events is still unverified as well as the recent string of vandalism, sweeping, unsourced statements like "Over 100.000 people, men, women and kids were attacked by Romanian Gerdamerie in Victory square (sic) when protesting against the ruling Social Democrat (PSD) government on Friday, Aug. 10th 2018." do not belong in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheWalrusTranscendent (talkcontribs) 21:21, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Continuity

[edit]

This article is written as if the Jandarmaria was continuous since its initial founding in 1850 when in fact it was not. The current organization bears only a passing connection to the former force and the article should be constructed to reflect this. If there is no objection I will restructure the article.--Degen Earthfast (talk) 14:41, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
