On 12 January 2024, it was proposed that this article be moved from Fools revolt to Fools' Revolt. The result of the discussion was moved. |
Article title
[edit]There's probably some more specific WP:MOS consideration about this, but anyway.
- Whatever the substantive article title should be, it should be in the form "Fools' revolt" - the revolt was by a group, not an individual, so in English the apostrophe should be after the plural name of the group
- A 2010 article, in English, in Der Spiegel (website) refers to the "Narrenrevolte" as the "Jesters' Revolt"
- "Narr" in German is usually translated as "fool" (see: de:Das Narrenschiff (Brant) and en Ship of Fools (satire). In this context, "Jester" would appear to be about particular theatrical characters called in English "fools".
Hope this helps. 09:43, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

- Support, but if it is not a proper noun, perhaps Fools' revolt would be better? If it is a proper noun, then move per nom. Bensci54 (talk) 17:41, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: confirmation needed on whether this is a proper noun Polyamorph (talk) 18:10, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nominator. "Fools revolt" would be grammatical only if it formed a sentence such as "the fools revolt now", which this article is not about. JIP | Talk 19:21, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
