Merge
[edit]This shouldn't be deleted, but I wonder whether a merge to Sean Combs would be best at present?--Michig (talk) 07:13, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Of course it should be a Merge to either Sean Combs or Last Train to Paris. The album actully isn't a group album, its a solo album by Diddy. Dirty Money is more of an added background vocals thing. STAT -Verse 07:37, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Wait, on all the singles so far they are credited as Diddy-Dirty Money not Diddy featuring Dirty Money. From everything I've seen it points to a three person group. Not on some of the others but especially on "Love Come Down", Dawn and Kalenna have more vocals than Diddy. Candyo32 (talk) 18:53, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm moving this page to "Diddy-Dirty Money". That's what the group (It's a trio, not a duo) is billed as. See http://www.diddydirtymoney.com/ There are also numerous random articles (on other sites) and whatnot that reference the group as "Diddy-Dirty Money", all you have to do is Google it, ie: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/04/01/entertainment/main6353483.shtml I'm also making numerous rewording changes to the article to reflect the name change Ijmitchell (talk) 00:38, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Punctuation?
[edit]So is that actually supposed to be a hyphen in the name, or is it just due to the today's world's lack of understanding between the difference between a hyphen and a dash? iTunes and Vevo list the group's name as Diddy - Dirty Money, suggesting that it is in fact supposed to be a dash as spaces are sometimes considered acceptable around dashes while they are never acceptable around a hyphen. If it is determined that this truly should be a dash, should the article be changed to "Diddy—Dirty Money" or "Diddy – Dirty Money" since it is grammatically correct? I would say yes, unless it is required that we leave the hyphen since that is how the group (incorrectly) bills itself. Mhavril39 (talk) 09:50, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- Personally, I had always assumed that it was supposed to be dash, as though the title "Diddy—Dirty Money" were akin to "Diddy's Dirty Money" or "Diddy presents Dirty Money." I suppose this naming issue can be put on hold until the below argument on whether or not "Diddy" is part of the title of the group. Mhavril39 (talk) 05:37, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Diddy-Dirty Money → Dirty Money (group) — Relisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:46, 11 January 2011 (UTC) Admittedly there was confusion at first but its obvious now that the group is called Dirty Money and consists of Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard. Diddy performs alongside them to form Diddy-Dirty Money but as you can see from the group's album page Last Train to Paris Diddy speaks of the group in two elements (himself and then Kalenna & Dawn). There is also a plethora of sources supporting this: WTAM Radio Cleveland, LA Times, Soul Culture, Entertainment Weekly, New York Daily News, Allmusic, Boston Globe and The Village Voice. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 17:13, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'll have to Oppose. But I'm not saying they aren't separate entities. However, I do not believe Dirty Money is a duo of Dawn and Kalenna perform under, but Diddy is referring to them as himself and the two singers. On the December 14, 2010 episode of 106 & Park, when asked about another DDM album in the future, the responded "of course" and the girls said that they would both work on solo endeavors as well as possibly Diddy. But it has not been noted that the two would ever be "Dirty Money" by themselves, which makes me think that "Diddy-Dirty Money" is Diddy, Dawn & Kalenna. Also in that interview and in songs, Diddy refers to them as "The Dirty Money crew." In one of the sources you gave, it states "Diddy-Dirty Money, which is a group comprised of Combs, Dawn Richard (formerly of Making The Band 3's now-defunct Danity Kane) and singer-songwriter Kalenna Harper." Also the sources refer to them as a "collective" which seems to be more like a group with Diddy than them linking up with Diddy for the album. Entertainment Weekly says "Perhaps realizing that he can’t quite pull off this feat all by himself, Diddy gives equal billing to two singers, Kalenna and ex-Danity Kane member Dawn Richard. The female two-thirds of Diddy-Dirty Money." Given a lot of reviews want to say that Diddy linked up with the duo, primary sources and interviews seem to point otherwise. - On the contrary.. on album release day Diddy gave an interview where he said (and i quote) " You know we got Gaga, we got Rihanna, we got Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, and now we got a different group. It's called Dirty Money." -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 01:01, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
- Additionally their official Vevo lists and refers to them as Dirty Money, as does the official album booklet. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 23:33, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm, but in those situations would he be referring to himself as a part of it as her occasionally refers to the project as "The Dirty Money movement"? Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 03:22, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

[edit]So I take it the lyric I transcribed as title comes from the name of one of the female components of Diddy-Dirty Money? --Fandelasketchup (talk) 18:20, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
