Lynzee Loveridge, the author of the article, has stated on her Twitter account that someone who was a voice actor and an ADR director sent her an e-mail threatening her that Daman Mills would commit suicide if she didn't take the article down. This happened around the same time the alleged victim decided to withdraw the allegations. Take this information as you will. lullabying (talk) 04:26, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I was already aware of that thread of Tweets. While it does lead to speculation, it is just speculation without a WP:RS to back it up. For now, the reliable sources seem to indicate that the allegations were false, so that is how we should treat them until a source comes to the contrary. Link20XX (talk) 04:42, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Loveridge is the head staff of the editorial department of Anime News Network, however. Would it be wrong to take her word as a source? The only things that seem to be speculation are whether the alleged victim was sent the same threats and the identity of the two people who interfered with the case (the person who doxxed the victim and the ADR director who threatened Loveridge). lullabying (talk) 04:46, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Regarding the suicide reference, Loveridge wrote "a voice actor and ADR director attempted to get ANN to take our articles. The person stated that if we didn't, Mills may commit suicide and we would have to write about that". This doesn't say whether the allegations were true or false, and I can think of many reasons why someone wouldn't want negative allegations, even false ones, about them on the internet. Other voice actors have had their careers shot due to this, with Vic Mignogna being one of the more notable examples. Nowhere in the Tweets does Loveridge state that the allegations were not actually fabricated after all. Link20XX (talk) 04:54, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't stating that the allegations were true. If we were to keep this section, this is worth mentioning is all. Regardless of whether the allegations are true or false, people were threatened to withdraw discussions about this. lullabying (talk) 04:57, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If this section were to be kept, then yes that would be worth mentioning. That being said, while death threats are very serious matters, that doesn't make this worth giving weight. If this influences his relationship with companies like Funimation or causes him to take a hiatus (like Chris Niosi), then it would probably be worth mentioning (though probably in the above section rather than its own section per WP:CONTROVERSY). I agree it should not be under its own header and that it should be under "Personal life" or "Legal issues." I'm leaning towards "Personal life" as not much has come out of it legally. lullabying (talk) 19:29, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah that I can agree with if consensus is formed to include the section. That being said, there seems to be no opposition to removing this section (at least you haven't provided any). Link20XX (talk) 20:25, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
