[edit]A fellow Wikipedian removed one source citation from this article, apparently because the citation cited to a blog. The one Wikipedia guidance reference I've found suggests that a blog reference can be an appropriate source (the reference suggests archiving blog and other internet references -- let me know if you'd like this reference). Does anyone have a reference to Wiki views on blogs as sources. My view is that it'd be good not to read too much into the category name, "blog." The citation to a blog that I had used as a reference was from an academic source, and, I believe, completely reputable ... providing firsthand info important to the article. Climate Section, "Weather Box" Template
[edit]The new weather box templates have multiple errors and aggravations, I believe. The more complete template that allows the entry of several sets of date incorrectly do not make clear in all data categories that the data are intended as monthly averages. The more sparse temperature/precipitation templates make the same mistake for the precipitation row, and make the additional error in adding a additional decimal place to the annual averages. All the templates unfortunately pick up the aggravating Wiki-ism of hot linking any word that happens to have its own Wiki entry -- in this case, the word, "Precipitation." This approach is leading inexorably to the point where every word or term in every article will be linked to something else. This would not be a problem in the weather box templates, if the linking could be turned off, but if it can be, I don't know how.
As a result of the above, in updating the Dale Enterprise climate weather box, I have taken a minimalist approach to list only monthly temperature highs and lows -- this still results in incorrect annual averages. DBK (talk) 21:57, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
