Proposal for splitting
[edit]Although this article is quite short, it is still confusing since the concept of district in PRC is different of that in ROC. For reducing confusion and maintaining consistency, I propose for splitting this article into three. One is about ancient China and in general form (may be named District (China)), another is about PRC (may be named District (PRC)), and one is about ROC (may be named District (ROC)). - I was bold and did it. The previous arrangement in one article was too confusing. Heroeswithmetaphors (talk) 12:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- The districts in ROC and PRC are highly relevant. It's good to maintain a main page for District (China) to introduce the general information. I have added District (ROC) and District (PRC) as the main articles for the relevant sections in District (China). Hope this is fine for us. --Neo-Jay (talk) 05:49, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Historical sense
[edit]Note that this is entirely incorrect. The current article on Government of the Han dynasty discusses districts as subdivisions of the counties and is translating an entirely different term. — LlywelynII 17:13, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
