Students

[edit]

The list of students Ryn has mentored isn't particularly controversial as these things go, but it lacks any citations, so it's not clear whether every student is notable and worth mention - not to mention whether they're actually former students. And if students, were they dissertations students, or just students mentored in some other way? In any event, this laundry list needs a little attention. When I have a chance, I'll see if I can find any sources. But should the whole section be truncated in the meantime? Perhaps just a sentence on the most notable students? Dushu magazine and Section Headers

[edit]

Added link to existing Wikipedia article on 'Dushu' magazine. Added exact quote on notability of 'Dushu' magazine. (I left the reference in 'raw' form as 'https://newleftreview.org/issues/ii49/articles/yongle-zhang-no-forbidden-zone-in-reading'; someone can probably improve it to a Wikipedia standard format.) To improve readability, I added two section headers "Research and Teaching" and "Influence in China". I, too, agree that the student list as it currently is in a poor format. It should be re-written and shortened to identify the most notifiable students and the exact nature of his "mentor-ship". I don't know this field so I am unqualified to make these improvements. Hopefully another editor will be able to complete this task. Seki1949 (talk) 07:16, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
