A fact from Chonga appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 29 November 2012 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the Chonga has become a Miami icon, influencing fashion in South Florida and beyond?
I've removed the section on alternate meanings. This is an encyclopedia article, and not dictionary. Listing alternate definitions isn't relevant. And its use as a slang term for marijuana is unrelated to the topic of this article. -- Whpq (talk) 14:34, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing that. Sometimes it's good encyclopedic writing to discus alternate meanings. But on reflection in this case it's probably a good call, as the section might have distracted from the very important primary topic. FeydHuxtable (talk) 15:40, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
""Chonga" has lexical similarities with several other Spanish terms" -- I'm not sure this is really relevant unless there's some evidence that the term arose through punning or misunderstanding. However, if the list belongs in this article, 'Chona" should be included. 72.179.53.2 (talk) 14:27, 29 November 2012 (UTC) Eric[reply]
