Date of first commission
[edit]At present the article cites Heathcote in stating that Moore was commissioned as a cornet into the 12th Light Dragoons in 1755. This seems unlikely given that he joined the Army in 1744 (the original DNB gives a date of 18 November 1755, but this is corrected in the ODNB) and became a lieutenant-colonel in January 1755. Twenty-five would have been pretty elderly for a cornet in the 18th century. I didn't like to remove the statement altogether as the ODNB doesn't give his first regiment.
