It appears this article does have a source.SriMesh | talk 04:13, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't look reliable and the only content is attendance figures. Where does "As of 2008, a CFL game has drawn in excess of 50,000 spectators 96 times. It happened for the first six times in 1976, when Toronto's Exhibition Stadium was renovated to accommodate the Toronto Blue Jays, and its capacity was enlarged to become the first stadium capable of holding such a large crowd. Later that same season, the Montreal Alouettes moved into Olympic Stadium, following the 1976 Summer Olympics." and the ranks come from? DoubleBlue (talk) 04:53, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why you say "Doesn't look reliable." Why not? As for where the rest of it comes from . . . based on the cited source, this has happened 96 times. They were ranked from highest to lowest. What's so hard to understand about that?Djob (talk) 12:39, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
WP:Reliable sources:"Wikipedia articles should use reliable, third-party, published sources. Reliable sources are credible published materials with a reliable publication process; their authors are generally regarded as trustworthy or authoritative in relation to the subject at hand. How reliable a source is depends on context. As a rule of thumb, the more people engaged in checking facts, analyzing legal issues, and scrutinizing the writing, the more reliable the publication. Sources should directly support the information as it is presented in an article and should be appropriate to the claims made; if an article topic has no reliable sources, Wikipedia should not have an article on it."
What are the sources used by http://www.profootballarchives.com/canada.html ? Who wrote it? Why are they to be trusted? The entire paragraph quoted above is original research; there is no source for it. DoubleBlue (talk) 20:57, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you like, I could reference to the Wikipedia pages on all the stadiums in the league, to show that none of them could hold a crowd of that size prior to 1976, and to show that Exhibition Stadium was renovated that year and the Alouettes moved into Olympic Stadium. But I thought some of that was rather common knowledge.Djob (talk) 21:41, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Who originally published this information on the greatest attendance and the history of CFL stadium sizes? DoubleBlue (talk) 22:56, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've begun referencing the individual attendance figures, since you don't trust my original citation. I don't have time to do them all right now, but I'll get to it eventually. If anyone else wants to help, they can. That goes for the first paragraph too. I think, at least, enough has been done to avoid deletion for now. The article will be improved.Djob (talk) 12:58, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That would be a good and valuable thing. I suspect that the lead will need a complete re-write to be attributable, however. Thanks! DoubleBlue (talk) 17:01, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
At a minimum the article should be moved to CFL attendance records.--kelapstick (talk) 16:13, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should get some REDBLACKS ! info instead of the rough riders with the renagades grey cup '04 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.59.91.247 (talk) 18:30, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, that's fine. I was even thinking "Canadian Football League attendance records", to be consistent with other CFL-related pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djob (talkcontribs) 18:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dates

[edit]

Seeing that the CFL is over a hundred years old it would be more appropriate for full years to be included rather than just the final two digits. That way for example 25/02/12 can't be confused as being either 1912 or 2012. Xenomorph1984 (talk) 18:54, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
