Unsigned Comment

Why was the vocabulary section deleted and the grammar section neutered? I can't find anything explaining it in the edit summaries. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.224.206.33 (talk) 22:47, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think it'd be intuitive if there's at least a citation in Balinese language, so despite the article being acceptable, compared to another articles out there, there is still a lot to add. 2804:389:A111:14D5:0:4B:A9F9:FC01 (talk) 13:43, 12 October 2024 (UTC)

History
[edit]A history section would be nice, including why this language originated and has survived, witn contrasting to other indo languages Balupton (talk) 09:49, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- This has been long on my to do list. Old Balinese inscriptions go back to the 9th century, so there is much to tell. Hopefully I can get to the task soon. –Austronesier (talk) 17:02, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
Audio sample changed?
[edit]Prehaps the audio sample should be changed if possible to one without such loud background noises that distract from what shes saying Thomas Norren (talk) 13:10, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
Merge proporal
[edit]I added the merge tag to Nusa Penida Balinese due to several issues that bug me out; the article is too early to be a separate article due to various reasons:
- The article lacking of any references further mentioning the dialect itself. The main reference of the topic itself, is based on Laksana (1977)'s Morfologi dialek Nusa Penida and Wayan, et. al's source, both of which is—as I know—pretty difficult to achieve.
- Most of the content, such as phonological difference and the spoken area already mentioned in the main Balinese language article;
- Unrelated and kind-of-redundant content mentioned in the #History section whereas it aims mainly on the Majapahit influence on Nusa Penida rather than the language itself, also:
- It is possible that Majapahit warriors who were not nobility, who still retained their Old Javanese language, marked by the phoneme /h/ at the beginning of words in some of their vocabulary, as documented in Zoetmulder's Old Javanese–Indonesian Dictionary (2006) and Wojowasito's Kawi–Indonesian Dictionary (1997),
- It's not stated in the source.
Further consideration that by hierarchy, this dialect is classified as sub-dialect of Bali Aga which itself is a dialect of Balinese. Furthermore, this article have some issues in the past regarding sockpuppetry. /ɲə/-lvoskt (bicara) 10:06, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- add: Outrage from the said sockpuppeter, classical move. /ɲə/-lvoskt (bicara) 10:08, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Although I agree that the article requires significant improvements, I am opposed to merging it with the main Balinese language article. I have already found some few sources to improve the article. Please allow me some time to enhance the article, and if it still falls short, we can revisit the discussion here.
