Cover
[edit]The 'bootleg' cover is the original cover of the album. The photo they used was not cleared by the person who took the photo. When they re-released it with the new cover the only original part was left (the paper bag) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.97.70.10 (talk • contribs).
- Do you have a source for that? My understanding is that the album was originally an unofficial release, followed by an official one (which required clearance for the music and cover). Just64helpin 09:55, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
The album was originally 'officially' released with the full cover, but then re-released with the new cover owing to permission being refused. The source for this info is on www.soulwax.info > remixes > 2d (sorry I don't know how to get the link direct). I have thus renamed the cover as 'original' rather than 'bootleg'.Nevov (talk) 11:36, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough, but the uniform header would be "Alternate cover" with the specifics placed underneath the image. Just64helpin (talk) 12:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Track listing
[edit]I don't know whether it is worth putting the artists who originally did the tracks somewhere in the track listing. Any ideas how best to do this? Thanks Malrase 09:36, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- I tried it, and it looks ok. --Stijn Vermeeren 09:22, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah this is a lot better, and provides much more information. Thanks for that (and the sorting out of the other Radio Soulwax stuf) - it's much appreciated! Malrase 17:51, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone know the instrumental used in "Into the Stars (Firebirds Remix)" by Alphawezen? I don't think it's by Alphawezen, it's not "Into the Stars," and I can't find anything similar by a band called the Firebirds... Help much appreciated! aubrey (talk) 22:40, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
New Order track
[edit]Surely this is "Blue Monday" not "The Beach"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.34.215.209 (talk) 11:47, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- "The Beach" is an instrumental revision of "Blue Monday". Please also keep in mind that each track (except "Shake Your Body") was exaustingly cleared for the compilation, according to the liner notes. As such, the likelyhood of a miscredited track is very narrow. Just64helpin (talk) 12:01, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Other 10 Albums
[edit]There are other 11 albums on discogs (part 1 to 11) with the same cover and a varying number of fingers to simbolyze the volume number. (yes, it gets tricky after 10) It's hard to find much information about them, other than the listing. They should be cited in this entry, or the entry should even be renamed As Heard On Radio Soulwax and dedicated to the whole series. Also, does anybody have any refereced informations on Part 1? The man on the cover is (obviously, how could they avoid that) flipping the bird to the audience, but was that meant from the start or Part. 1 was somehow unofficially published after Part.2? (all volumes have very different tracklist and they are all mixed and heavy edited, ready for a liveset)
- This is the only official album, the others are bootlegs. If they haven't received much attention, there is no reason to rename the article on this one official and very famous album. They can be mentioned somewhere near the bottom in one or two sentences if you think it would be useful for many readers. Fram (talk) 14:42, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
