He made his debut against Swindon Town, where he came off the bench to score a late equaliser in a 1–1 draw. Akinfenwa then had the same impact in his home debut scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Leeds United.

massive size
[edit]Appears to be no mention of Ade's massive physique when compared to the average football player. this has given him somewhat of a cult status amongst the fans of the teams he has played for, particularly Northampton Town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr Morden76 (talk • contribs) 20:17, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

- Quite a lot of those are not reliable (blogs, forums, Facebook, etc). I'll take a gander at the others when I'm on the PC rather than my phone -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 20:42, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Dubious sentence in lead
[edit]"Akinfenwa's first professional breakthrough came at Doncaster Rovers, having spent time up until then in the lower leagues of English football as well as spells in Lithuania and Wales" - this implies he had not played professional football before he went to Doncaster, when in fact he had played for Boston United and Leyton Orient, both of which were fully professional at that time........ -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 16:38, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
Bench press weight
[edit]The article currently states that he can bench 200kg, but his YouTube shows that his most recent bench PR is only 190kg. Daniel samuels (talk) 14:40, 26 June 2015 (UTC) Daniel Samuels
- The youtube video shows 190 in a partial movement with assistance, clearly not a valid lift by any standards. Perhaps the text should read that he 'claims' a bench of 190 (or 180). Inflated bench numbers - yes, that's a thing. Nick loughborough (talk) 20:53, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
Watford
[edit]Akinfenwa said, in the Ball Street Podcast, Episode 4 <<https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-long-ball-street/id1112917345?mt=2&i=369354285>> 25 May 2016, that he spent only 8 months at Watford, so I amended the 1998-2001 dates to 2000-01/Statto74 (talk) 14:32, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Please can you replace the picture of him playing for Wimbledon in 2015 with a recent picture of him playing for Wycombe Wanderers. The picture is 7 years old and he is due to retire at Wycombe end of this season. Thank you. 79.69.85.101 (talk) 23:54, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

- @79.69.85.101: - do you have access to a copyright-free image of him playing for Wycombe......? -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 07:29, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
Hashtag United
[edit]Per this article, he played a portion of a pre-season friendly and is not out of retirement. "After the final whistle, he confirmed it was only a one-off appearance for The Tags."

- The game was not in the "conference leagues", it was a non-competitive pre-season match. These are not included in a player's stats -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 18:55, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
