This should not be under Tamil Brahmins.

They are grouped separately Vishwakarmas

Not that it matters in real life. But it affects the credibility of Wikipedia.

Ravichandar84 ji, you mean Adi Shankarachari was not a Tamil Brahmin and an Achari? In southern India is Adi Shankaracharya not called Adi Shankarachari? (Google's Search result for Adi Shankarachari, Entries in Google Books for Shankarachari). Also can you kindly explain what is "Achari" in Adi Shankarachari's name?Ganesh J. Achari words

[edit]

The surname ACHARI is historically linked to artisans and priests, primarily associated with the crafting and performing of rituals in Hindu temples. The name likely originates from the Sanskrit word "Acharya," meaning teacher or guide, often associated with religious or skilled artisan roles Vipin Babu lumia (talk) 15:31, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
