361° → 361 Degrees – MOS:TM / WP:TITLETM and WP:TSC: Please note that I just boldly moved the article to use an ordinary degree symbol rather than a ring diacritic. However, using any sort of special characters in the titles of articles is generally discouraged by WP:TSC. Even after the move I just performed, I still think this title is formatted to try to imitate the logo of the company rather than to provide the ordinary and simple name of the company in English. An ordinary company name in English is more likely to use regular characters "found on most English-language keyboards" (WP:TSC). The opening sentence says this company's name is "361 Degrees International Limited", so "361 Degrees" would be our ordinary way to handle it (per WP:NCCORP). This move would revert a bold move of 27 May 2016. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:44, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Oppose, the degree symbol is used in many article titles (Anderson Cooper 360°, 720°, etc.) and no evidence shown that "361 Degrees" is the common name. 162 etc. (talk) 19:14, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- This article cites four independent financial site sources. All four of them use "361 Degrees International Ltd" or similar, without the symbol. There are only a couple of other sources cited in this article, and they seem seem promotional, affiliated or self-published. In those other cases there may be more use of the symbol in independent sources. — BarrelProof (talk) 01:53, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- If we're using financial sites to determine article names, then IBM should be moved to International Business Machines Corporation and McDonald's to McDonald's Corporation. They are not necessarily indicative of the common name. 162 etc. (talk) 16:43, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- Not a big deal, really, but Walmart, Zappos and Amazon also seem to mostly spell it out with letters rather than using the symbol. Also The South China Morning Post (and again) and The Global Times. — BarrelProof (talk) 01:45, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, this is a better example of common name usage. I've withdrawn my opposition. 162 etc. (talk) 01:57, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
