Question about reference

[edit]

Hi:

Could someone give me a reference about the "official" start as end of the 2024–25 South-West Indian Ocean cyclone season. It is said in the text: 15 November 2024 to 30 April 2025, with the exception for Mauritius and the Seychelles, for which it will end on 15 May 2025. However, I could not find a weblink to corroborate that.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_Low_01U_(2024); Is also TC 3S… could we include it?

[edit]

1U, according to the JTWC, is actually 3S. Should this be mentioned in the article or not? 🍋 🍋(talk!) 17:00, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you mean the lead of the article, then no, because since the system has given the official TCWC BoM, we should refer to it. HurricaneEdgar 18:45, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cyclone Chido

[edit]

This series of editions is wrong. Althought Meteo-France has upgraded Chido to tropical cyclone, the JTWC has only winds of 75 knots (https://wiki.chlod.net/jtwc/text/2024-12-11-0750-sh0425web.txt and https://www.metoc.navy.mil/jtwc/products/sh0425web.txt) which set the cyclone to an equivalent of category 1 in the Saffir-Simpson scale.

Chido Wiki?

[edit]

I think it's necessary seeing as its forecast to hit Mozambique with winds of 100kt Also as it made a category 4 on a island near Madagascar, and is brushing Madagascar as a category 3. 2601:846:580:32D0:1159:B4A2:80A6:280A (talk) 14:45, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
