Sky Tavern is a ski resort in Nevada, United States. It is located in the Sierra Nevada mountains, near to Lake Tahoe and Reno.
Location
[edit]The resort is located on Mt. Rose Highway, 20 miles from Reno.[1]
History
[edit]Founded in 1948, Sky Tavern is home to the oldest non-profit ski and snowboard training facility in America.[2] In 2021, Sky Tavern was awarded the National Ski Areas Association Conversation Cup which “recognizes the best ski area programs aimed at bringing in first-time guests and converting them into lifelong participants.”[3]
The ski area is also well known for its adaptive ski program for children with learning and/or physical disabilities. There are five PSIA adaptive instructors that volunteer to coach those children.[3]

Soda Springs features 14 trails, and the resort encompasses 200 acres (81 ha). The longest trail is 0.7 mi (1.1 km). The base elevation of the resort is 7,340 ft (2,240 m), and the summit is 8,240 ft (2,510 m).[2]
