Nate Yarnell (born October 10, 2002) is an American college football quarterback for the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Early life
[edit]Yarnell attended high school at Lake Travis. In Yarnell's junior season, he completed 108 of his 158 pass attempts for 1,489 yards and 14 touchdowns.[1] Coming out of high school, Yarnell was rated as a three star recruit where he held offers from school's such as Houston, Nevada, Utah, and Pittsburgh.[2] Ultimately, Yarnell decided to commit to play college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers.[3][4]
College career
[edit]In Yarnell's first career start in 2022, Yarnell completed nine of his twelve pass attempts for 179 yards and a touchdown, as he helped lead Pittsburgh to a 34-14 win over Western Michigan.[5] Yarnell finished the 2022 season completing ten out of his fourteen passing attempts for 195 yards and a touchdown.[6] In week thirteen of the 2023 season, Yarnell got his first start of the season completing 11 of his 19 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown, while also adding 24 yards and a touchdown on the ground, as he helped the Panthers to a win over Boston College.[7] In the 2023 season finale versus Duke, Yarnell completed 25 of his 35 pass attempts for 265 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.[8] In 2023, Yarnell completed 41 of his 62 pass attempts for 595 yards, and four touchdowns, with just one interception. Yarnell also added 13 and a touchdown on the ground.[9]
