Mingyo "Audrey" Kim (Korean: 김민교; born April 17, 2004) is an American Taekwondo athlete. She has competed nationally, representing the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Taekwondo, multiple times at the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association National (NCTA) Collegiate Championship as well as the Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference (ECTC).
In the 2023 NCTA Tournament, she helped Texas Taekwondo earn its 4th consecutive year collegiate victory by obtaining the bronze medal in the women's featherweight (-57 kg) event.
As of the most recent November 2024 World Taekwondo rankings, Kim is currently unranked in both the women's bantamweight (-53 kg) and women's featherweight (-57) categories.[1]
Career
[edit]Mingyo made her collegiate debut in her freshman year at University of Texas at Austin in the 2022-23 school year. While she initially intended to sign up for the red-belt category in the tournament, due to her previous experience competing in the Olympic Junior Division as a black-belt, she was required to compete as a black-belt in the -57 kg Senior Division.[2]
