Biography
[edit]Born in Stratford, Brown got his first bass and played his first gig at fourteen.[1][3] His influences were Deep Purple, Free, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Slade, and many glam rock and hard rock stars.[3]
One of Brown's first professional bands was Wildfire, that was led by former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno, a group he was in from 1982 to 1985.[3] Brown also toured with Dumpy's Rusty Nuts, and in 1987, Brown joined Andy Scott's Sweet,[3] and was bassist (and eventually lead vocalist) for sixteen years, leaving at the beginning of 2003.[5]
In 2005, Brown was invited by Dave Munden to play with The Tremeloes.[3][6] Also in 2005, he formed "The Original Jukebox Heroes", which has included former members of Paper Lace, Bay City Rollers, The Glitter Band, and Herman's Hermits.[7] Brown left the Tremeloes and later joined The Trems, a band formed by former members of The Tremeloes.
Jeff's first solo album, 23 Years, was released in 2015.[8] The albums lineup included Brown on lead vocals and bass, former Warlock guitarists Niko Arvanitis and Peter Szigeti, keyboardist Gary Moberley and drummer Jürgen Reinert, Ralf Bronckhorst on acoustic guitars, former Tremeloes member Joe Gillingham on backing vocals.[8]
