"Search" button changed in Vector Skin 2022

[edit]

In the desktop version, the magnifying glass "Go" button to search has been replaced by the "Search" button at the top of every page in the default Vector skin (2022). When at the top of a page, an entire search bar will appear in the top left corner, but if you scroll down, this is minimized to just a magnifying glass. However, in multiple places I've seen this outdated example referred to without clarification of the new changes:

  1. On Help:Contents page it still states select the magnifying glass "Go" button, whereas it should rather be select the "Search" button. And possibly some mention of when scrolling down, this is minimized to a magnifying glass and if accessed on mobile version/app.
  2. On Help:Searching#Search page: click on the magnifying glass in the search box, rather than click on the "Search" button.
  3. On Help:Searching#Search box:
In Vector, instead of a search button, there is an icon of a magnifying glass on the right-hand end of the search box.
In Wikipedia's default Vector skin, it is located in the top right corner of the screen. Should be left?

I'd also like to go ahead and update the screenshots to the latest Vector 2022. waddie96 ★ (talk) 16:22, 30 December 2024 (UTC) (edit 16:28, 30 December 2024 (UTC)).[reply]
