this photo is of the earths atmosphere and the moon. if you take a closer look at the lower portion of the moon ( i mean zoom in ) you will see a small white thing with a line underneath of it. it seems to be somethings taking off into space or beaming down. while zoomed in you will notice the white thing has different pixels then the rest of the photo this suggests whatever the photo did show might have been to much for us by nasa's standards.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.174.196.222 (talk • contribs) 15:05, 17 July 2007

The fuzziness around the bright pixel is a JPEG artifact. Besides, even if NASA were trying to hide something they could do a much better job than that. --Safalra 20:22, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that it is possible that the small white pixel was distorted by the jpeg. i am still yet to see anything like it on the rest of the jpeg. try zooming in and out of the white dot. It will actually show a rectangular area that could have easily been edited by photoshop (which i am certified in)

It looks to me like a CCD artefact, perhaps a stuck pixel. That would explain the faint trail below it - in astronomy this would be referred to as a hot column. Modest Genius ^talk 19:20, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The trail is perfectly vertical from the spot so I would say that the trail is an artifact. Could the spot be a cosmic ray hitting the CCD sensor ? The blue value for the pixel is 255 (or 100%) I think it is implausible for a physical object to give such a rendering. --Iv (talk) 12:59, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1. the moon is there! 2. what the spot is, I don't know, but if it is a very bright thing, the stroke under it cannot be a JPEG artifact, it must be a bleeding which is a CCD artifact, but that requires that the bright spot is real, maybe a reflexion of some kind. ... said: Rursus (^mbork³) 20:21, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
