The beautiful chandelier that hangs in the main auditorium of Cleveland’s State Theater was originally designed for and hung in the auditorium of the Erlanger Theater at 21st and Market Sts in Philadelphia. The Erlanger was a legitimate theater and saw many tryout shows that went on to success on Broadway. It opened in 1927 and was demolished in 1977, the chandelier being removed while the demolition of the theater was progressing. It was one of the very few items saved from the beautiful Erlanger.
