I'm having trouble dealing with copyright issues for this. This is a copyrighted photo. Rights belong to the subject Jeff Antoniuk, as the photography was work done for hire. Jeff approves this use of the photo. I don't seem to be able to indicate this anywhere. Can anyone help me find out how to proceed? Is there a form for copyright holders to authorize the use of their material? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Killersax (talk • contribs) 2013-02-08T16:51:51
- As it is a photo of a person who is still alive, the copyright holder needs to publish the image under a free licence so that the image can be used and modified by anyone. See WP:CONSENT for instructions.
- You are claiming that it is a work for hire and that the subject of the photo is the copyright holder. Are you certain that this is the case here? The subject of the photo is only the copyright holder if he is the photographer's employer. If the photo was instead, say, taken by John Doe working for John Doe Photography Ltd., and Jeff Antoniuk simply hired John Doe Photogarphy Ltd. for taking the photo, then the copyright holder is normally John Doe Photography Ltd. In that case, permission needs to come from John Doe Photography Ltd. --Stefan2 (talk) 17:45, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
