When I was a boy of about three and stayed in Crossburn St. In Glasgow I remember over hearing a conversation between my gran and a man who use to run the dances in the Tavern Ballroom. This place was very popular at the time and this man had a friend who was in the merchant navy and sailed to New York quite often. My gran,s friend asked this seaman if he could bring back the latest hit record from America and he said he would do his best. This man came back from New York and had the words and music from " When the moon comes over the mountain". He had the words printed on a dance ticket and told anyone who bought a ticket and attended the dance would get the words and the music of the latest hit. Needless to say the dance was full to capacity that night and I'm sure he must have cleaned up financially that night. Many years later in the 50'  the same man had a big editorial written about him in the papers about how he knew more select dances than anyone else in Glasgow. If I can remember correctly his name was Robert Stuart.
