I asked the author if he was willing to release this image under a free license, but he unfortunately declined. Here's his response:

thank you for the link. seeing it, i come to the conclusion that i should have been able to find it myself…

anyhow. thank you also for your explanation on the background regarding commercial use. while i understand the stance that wikipedia takes, i would be rather unhappy if anybody used the image in a commercial context without asking me. while i am happy to grant 99% of the possible uses a free pass, there are certain uses that i cannot imagine ever allowing. unfortunately, that means that i will stick with the noncommercial license.

find attached three images from the project which i can release with a CC Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license. i hope this is sufficient for now :)
