DescriptionVERMILION INSTITUTE, HAYESVILLE, ASHLAND COUNTY.jpg
English: Built in 1845-1846; it became known as one of the finest schools in Ohio. In 1851 it became a preparatory school associated with Wooster College. From 1889 to 1929 it became Hayesville High School. It now stands abandoned although some renovation appears underway. Wikipedia's NR listing shows only the sign for this school. Here is a picture of the building itself. Incidentally the sign does not appear to be present still either on the site or in the town which is small.
