Summary

Description The Drinking Fountain in Union Square Park, Manhattan, New York City, was designed by architect J. Leonard Corning and sculpted in bronze by Karl Adolph Dondorff. The base is polished Swedish red granite. It was cast in 1881 by G. Howaldt, Braunschweig and dedicated on October 25th of that year. The fountain was donated by Daniel Willis James and Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. (Source: "Union Square Drinking Fountain" on the NYC Parks Department website)
