Description
Português: Operários chapeleiros em volta de uma "Fula", caldeira onde emanavam vapores ácidos e corantes utilizados para preparar e tingir os feltros finos. Em consequência de manusearem os feltros sem qualquer protecção, as unhas dos operários deterioravam-se tomando a tonalidade negra, pelo que eram conhecidos como "Unhas Negras". Este trabalho árduo está imortalizado na obra "Unhas Negras" de João da Silva Correia.
