Summary

Description
English: Illustration from the book Wärend och Wirdarne (1864) by Gunnar Olof Hyltén-Cavallius depicting an idol or fetisch made of animal bone. This fetisch once belonged to the troll woman or witch "Captain Elin", but was collected during witch trials, and was in the 1860's stored by the Göta Court of Appeal (Göta Hovrätt). Note that Hyltén-Cavallius thought that witches was descended from trolls, and that trolls was a people living in Scandinavia in ancient times.
Svenska: Illustration från sidan 123 i Wärend och Wirdarne (1864) av Gunnar Olof Hyltén-Cavallius.

Bildtext: "Trollbackan Kapten Elins s. k. afgud, förvarad i k.
