Summary

Description
English: Tristyly is controlled by two independently segregating loci. The M locus controls the expression of the mid-styled morph; plants having the dominant M allele produce mid-styled flowers. The S locus controls the expression of the short-styled morph; plants having the dominant S allele produce short-styled flowers regardless of the genotype at the M locus (the S locus is epistatic-dominant to the M locus). Plants with recessive alleles at both loci produce long-styled flowers.
