Summary
| Description |
English: Wicker tray with bowls of food cooked for the Buddhist monks of the temple of Don Det, Laos. Among the dishes, there are pieces of watermelon, boiled green leaves (like spinach), pork cooked with quarters of chayote, pieces of fermented fish and green chilis, cucumber, a red chili sauce, and grilled chicken. A bottle of mineral water also comes with that tray, and the straw basket in the center contains fresh sticky rice. Traditionally, these preparations are made by the locals in their own kitchens, and then delivered early morning to the monks, eating together in the temple with the people (but before them).
Français : Plateau en osier avec des bols de nourriture cuisinés pour les moines boudhistes du temple de Don Det, Laos. Parmi les plats, il y a des morceaux de pastèque, des feuilles vertes bouillies genre épinard, du porc cuisiné avec des quartiers de chayote, des morceaux de poisson fermenté avec du piment vert, du concombre, une sauce de piment rouge, et du poulet grillé. Une bouteille d'eau minérale accompagne également le plateau, tandis que le panier tressé au centre contient du riz gluant. Traditionnellement, ces préparations sont faites par les locaux dans leur propre cuisine, et livrées tôt le matin aux moines, qui mangent ensemble dans le temple avec les gens (mais avant eux). |
