Cut from one piece of wood, hourglass-shaped. Top end longer, bottom end shorter. At the fold of the hourglass a cut ring. The drum is cut into narrow bands and colored in white, red and black alternately. On the drum is an iguana skin that is undamaged.
There is also a cut handle, which stops from the bottom to just in front of the top. The handle is completely decorated with incised ornaments.
