English: Leonardo da Vinci, Three lunettes above the Last Supper. Tempera and oil on plaster, width at base 335 cm (central lunette) and 225 cm left- and right-hand lunettes).   • Center, Ludovico Sforza & Beatrice d'Este; Racchiuso da una ghirlanda di foglie e di frutta, a sua volta contornata da un’iscrizione che, portando le sigle, in lettere capitali latine, “LU(dovicus) MA(ria) BE(atrix) EST(ensis) SF(ortia) AN(gleriae Comes) DU(x Mediolani)”, allude a Ludovico il Moro (1452-1508) ed a Beatrice d’Este (1475-1497), sua moglie, ad ulteriore conferma che si tratta di una rappresentazione di alleanza matrimoniale (Source: [1])
