English: Diagram of conic sections. r represents the cone's radius, and h represents the cone's height. The θs represent the sections' inclinations from the altitude of the cone.
This diagram is derived from a 3D model of a right cone with a 128-vertex polygonal base. The each cone is two units tall (making a four-unit-tall complex), and has a radius of 1 unit. The ellipse section is inclined sixty degrees, and the hyperbola section is vertical (zero degrees). 26.57 degrees was used for the parabola.
The entire complex was hand-traced in inkscape from a high-resolution PNG rendering.
