| Description |
English: The West Front - Wells Cathedral The magnificence of the west facade of the cathedral is quite breathtaking. Flanked by two towers, the West Front was begun in 1215, and when completed it was at the time the largest collection of figurative statuary anywhere in the western world. It depicts the biblical retelling of the history of the world, and shows Christ flanked by angels above statues of disciples and kings. |
