English: The Sensory Garden, Buckfast Abbey. To quote from the sign at the gate "The Sensory Garden is based on designs from medieval pleasure gardens. It is an area for contemplation and peace. The old cider press in the centre has water trickling down from its centre onto the cobbles below. ... The chamomile seat is surrounded by a trellis over which honeysuckle and fragrant white roses are growing".
It's pity the camera can't capture the fragrances. |
