The concrete stairway, also referred to as "Mattachine Society Stairs", is located at the end of the 2300 block of Cove Avenue, a short street extending SouthEast from its intersection with North Silver Lake Boulevard. The steps provide an extension of the street for access to the homes on the steep hill. They were officially named The Mattachine Steps by the Los Angeles City Council in February 2012.[1]
