English: The Burford Bridge Hotel Parts of this listed-building, west-facing hotel date back to the 16th century. It is reputed to be the place where Lord Nelson spent his last hours with Lady Hamilton before leaving for Trafalgar. Other notable past guests include Keats, Wordsworth and Sheridan as well as Queen Victoria, Jane Austen and Robert Louis Stevenson.
For many years part of the Forte hotel empire, it is now part of the French Mercure chain.
Behind the hotel can be seen the slopes of Box Hill.
