Summary

Description
English: This image shows the TAS (Total Alkali-Silica) diagram for classification of glassy or fine-grained igneous rocks for which mineralogical classification is impractical. The basanite/tephrite field is highlighted in yellow. Basanite is distinguished from tephrite by a normative olivine content of over 10%.
