English: This map shows the party elected in each province within the 1981 election of Apartheid-era South Africa. Orange indicates a victory of president Botha's incumbent National party, favored by Afrikaaners and the farther right. Yellow indicates a victory of Vause Raw's challenging New Republic party, favored by Anglos and moderates. The official opposition was the Progressive Federal Party; however, it had very decentralized support while the NRP was most popular in English-speaking Natal. I will update this map sometime to account for the Bantustans.
