Description Melvin Sheppard of the USA crosses the finish line to win the final of the 1500 Metres at the 1908 London Olympics from Harold Wilson of Great Britain, with an Olympic Record time of 4 minutes 3.4 seconds. Sheppard also won the 800 Metres a week later with a World Record 1 minute 52.8 seconds.
